It has been a year and a half since I created Think in the Morning. I have put up over 150 posts. Many of the posts have been nostalgic memories of the Sea Gull Restaurant and Bar in Mendocino during the time I was the owner/operator. Other posts include short stories, some by guests posting on the site, political posts, book reviews, and posts about mezcal, Mexico, and more. The response has been gratifying. Thank you !
On the Think in the Morning Facebook page and on our Twitter Page (@ThinkInTheMorn) I have posted nearly 200 poems with a sample of Napkin Art created in the old Sea Gull Cellar Bar. There is a small collection of that napkin art at the Kelley House in Mendocino. Two years ago there was a showing of Napkin Art at the Mendocino Art Center. My goal was to use the Think in the Morning Facebook page as a venue to display the whimsical, eclectic, and always original Napkin Art in my collection. The Facebook and Twitter posts have been compiled into posts on our website. We now have 10 pages of poems and art on the site. The unique art created by a group of mostly local artists acts as a snapshot of the times (late 1970s, early 1980s) as seen from the Sea Gull Cellar Bar in Mendocino. This project will continue until I have posted all the Napkin Art available.
Think in the Morning is taking a short break to reassess and plan the future. We value all your comments both on and off the site. We will be back to regular posting again in a couple of weeks.
