What is happening in America today is a well-planned organized old school Putsch. You might think it’s just Trump being Trump but that would be a serious mistake. Trump is a convenient tool who arrived on the scene at just the right time to be exploited. The Putsch is much more than Trump.
Congress could challenge Trump’s most egregious acts but not a single Republican in the House or Senate has yet done so. The Supreme Court could step up for the Constitution but the solid conservative majority, one third appointed by Trump, was selected by the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation to accomplish the goals of Project 2025. Elite Republicans are aware that they must act together as a group to accomplish their goals.
Project 2025 has long been in the works. “Project 2025 is a federal policy agenda and blueprint for a radical restructuring of the executive branch authored and published by former Trump administration officials in partnership with The Heritage Foundation, a longstanding conservative think tank that opposes abortion and reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, immigrants’ rights, and racial equity.” ACLU

The book offers a menu of policy suggestions to meet our country’s deepest challenges and put America back on track, including:
- Secure the border, finish building the wall, and deport illegal aliens
- De-weaponize the Federal Government by increasing accountability and oversight of the FBI and DOJ
- Unleash American energy production to reduce energy prices
- Cut the growth of government spending to reduce inflation
- Make federal bureaucrats more accountable to the democratically elected President and Congress
- Improve education by moving control and funding of education from DC bureaucrats directly to parents and state and local governments
- Ban biological males from competing in women’ s sports
The proponents of The Putsch are consolidated and organized. The opponents are scattered and disorganized.
President Trump received 77,302,580 votes or 49.8% of the popular vote, less than a majority but more than Kamala Harris who received 75, 017,613 or 48.3%. Approximately 89 million eligible voters did not vote. (CNN and U.S. News & World Report)

In the first month and a half the supporters of Project 2025 have successfully executed their Putsch in nearly textbook fashion based on the model described above. Will this Putsch succeed? Most, neatly 90%, fail. The jury is still out on this one.
