Thank you for this invitation. Wish it was on the weekend. Quite a distance for those of us In Mendocino.
Oh,no. So Sorry to hear. We had only reconnected a few years ago, thanks to you, David, and Napkin Art. I will miss hearing from him.
Roy was my good pal from way back when…he was an absolutely brilliant and unique artist, had a wicked sense of humor and taught me how to put up wallpaper….
Great guy and a most excellent sense of humor.
A true Renaissance man! Roy had a way of making a dark day so much brighter! Every greeting included at least three jokes, a relevant story, and somewhere we had to go and do or make something. Thank you, David for this memorial.
Dear Roy, such kind, delightful soul . RIP friend.
I knew Roy well from my Mendocino years in the late seventies and eighties. I was gratified to reconnect with him on FaceBook a few years ago We did Napkin Art together, among other things, and were both participants in the “Artist’s Eating and Talking Society.” It was at one of those “EATS” events that we convened at Roy’s studio. In addition to the lanterns that were hanging and work that was already displayed, he pulled out more of ingenious work from trunks like rabbits from the hat of a prolific magician. He was brilliant! His sense of humor was keen. Thank you for everything, Roy. Somewhere in the great Beyond you are hanging your exquisite lanterns and lighting the sky.
