I first learned about San Pasqual, patron saint of cooks and shepherds, from my friends Gil and Lucy in Puerto Vallarta where I purchased the wood carving at the top of this post.  I will be writing a piece on Gil and Lucy soon.  There are many sources online that discuss San Pasqual.  You can read one of them HERE.  It is said that a chef’s kitchen can never contain too many images of San Pasqual.  I am at this very moment preparing Thanksgiving Dinner for family and friends and it is cheering and consoling to have his little wooden statue staring down on me.  I am convinced that the food I prepare benefits from his supervision.

The Sea Gull Cellar Bar was famous for the napkin art created by local artists, customers, and employees.  I have selected a few napkins that I think are appropriate for Thanksgiving.  Enjoy.
